From Bethany Matheson, M.Ed., LPC-A, NBCC: In a previous life, I was a Ballet and Modern dancer. I trained at the School of Nashville Ballet growing up, and I was in the Alvin Ailey/Fordham University BFA program when I developed a chronic spine injury. I am absolutely passionate about how the body stores trauma, and that has become the primary focus of my clinical work. I graduated from Vanderbilt University with my M.Ed. in clinical mental health counseling in 2017. I am trained in EMDR, I have a certificate in trauma counseling from UWM, and I have a 100hr certificate in trauma-informed yoga. I specialize in complex trauma and PTSD, and I work primarily with military families. I have experience with play therapy modalities, and I use an integrative approach that centers around attachment theory and person-centered therapy with my clients. My new company is an organization dedicated to addressing human suffering by providing empowering, practical tools for physical and emotional reconnection.
